DENGUE FEVER ALERT ECUADOR - February 10, 2010
Rains continue to wreck havoc with much of Ecuador. The coast is being inundated and flooding in a number of the coastal provinces is causing a health safety issues. To date this year Ecuador has reported 984 classic dengue fever cases and 29 hemorrhagic dengue cases. The numbers are growing daily and government officials are working as hard as they can to fumigate against mosquitoes. Guayas, El Oro, and Manabi provinces are suffering "el niņo rains". Chone in Manabi province has suffered a complete destruction of it's sewage system.
Be sure to use propellant and long sleeves. Colognes and perfumes attract mosquitoes.
