BOMB SCARE GUAYAQUIL AIRPORT - AUGUST 24, 2010
At 10:00 pm on August 23, 2010, an unattended briefcase was found on a counter at the international airport in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Police and fire units were called in. The suitcase was exploded by authorities at the airport. At the time of preparing this report we had received reports that this was a bomb scare as well as reports there was a bomb in the briefcase. At 1:00 am, the Guayaquil airport website was showing no cancellations of flights for August 24, 2010. Reports pending investigation.
