Large Pothole at Quito Airport
Yesterday there was a cave in a 100 meters from the end of runway 17 at the international airport in Quito. Flights were not affected. The sink hole is approximately three meters wide and eighteen meters deep and involved the breaking of a drainage pipe. Traffic on Calle Tufiño has been restricted as well as the tunnel that leads to the city. It is expected that the repair should take two days once new pipe is obtained. (ECUADORRAVELADVISORY.COM)
