U.S. EXCHANGE STUDENTS AT A HIGH SCHOOL IN MANTA ECUADOR TALKING ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES
One of the greatest experiences for a young person is being exposed to other cultures by an exchange program in another country. No doubt Ecuador offers numerous programs to gain an education and culture exchange. I found this video which is an interview of several U.S. high school students at a Catholic high school in Manta, Ecuador. They provide some very insightful comments about the culture in Ecuador and the differences in class structure. They also speak about the alcohol culture in Ecuador. Eighteen is the legal drinking age in Ecuador and not strictly enforced. In terms of safety this would be of concern to parents. While drinking goes on anywhere in the world with minors it can become a much more dangerous issue when the student is in another country. Video was posted about two years ago.
