TUNGURAHUA VOLCANO EMITTING ASH
Tungurahua volcano which towers above Baņos has been emitting ash and had some small explosions. Four small hamlets have been alerted and some residents have taken refuge in other locations. Ash has covered certain areas including crops. It is located in the Sangay National Park.
Ambato located 30 km to the NW. Riobamba 30 km to the SW. Quito is located 87 miles to the north.
