ECUADOR COASTAL WARNINGS - RIPTIDES, SWELLS, COASTAL EROSION
The Institute of Oceanography of Ecuador has issued a warning for all northern coastal areas of the country. They advise that between January 16th, and 18th, 2010, they expect high waves of 2.5 meters along the northern coast. Swells will be present along with riptides. Furthermore, erosion of sediment may be present and happen rapidly.
