ASSAILANTS STORM HOTEL CASINO IN QUITO - AUGUST 13, 2010
On August 12, 2010, six armed assailants stormed the Plaza Hotel and Casino in Quito, Ecuador where they stole $36,000 from guards who were transporting money for an ATM machine. They left on motorcycles and randomly fired their weapons during the noon hour and wounded three bystanders. Police surmise that the robbers are a gang and that the crime was well planned out down to the last detail. The Plaza Hotel and Casino is located on Avenida Shyris near the Quicentro mall.
