ECUADOR UPDATE - GUAYAQUIL - SEPTEMBER 30, 2010
We are receiving reports out of Guayaquil at 7:15 pm that there is lack of police presence and that all gas stations are closed. Also, eyewitnesses are reporting massive theft of individuals and looting throughout parts of the city. At the current time we are recommending that all individuals remain vigilant and stay indoors. We are also receiving information that flights in the Guayaquil airport are being allowed to land. Again, make sure you are taking safety measures when leaving the airport. Planes are not being allowed to leave at the present time.
