Progress Continues on Highway connecting Cuenca and Loja
Improvements to the the highway from Cuenca to Loja has been in progress for two years. Transportation time is now four hours as opposed to the previous six hour trip. The 70 km section between Loja and Saraguro should be completed by May 2010. The access to Loja will have four lanes. There are five sections between Saraguro and Loja that will not be laid with concrete because of destabilization of the road. (TRAVEL SAFETY ECUADOR)
